forest was inspired while in Calfiornia, gazing up into the canopy of the giant Sequoia trees. I wanted to capture the scale and density of trees with the bright sunlight trying to reach the ground through the trees.
The print is a drypoint on perspex, intaglio printed in sepia and velvet black inks onto hand torn Somerset paper.
forest was selected for inclusion in the Bath Open Art Prize exhibit in Bath in October 2023.
